Jim Hilton, 74, died Friday, May 30, 2025

He was born James Emmart Hilton, Jr. on November 29, 1950, son of James E., Sr. and Dorothy Cassidy Hilton.  Jim was a mechanical engineer and spent most of his career in the HVAC field.  He was a 1968 graduate of Fern Creek High School and a proud parent of Assumption High School and Trinity High School graduates. He spent many hours volunteering his skills and time at Trinity.

What made Jim dedicated to serving others was his steady kindness and quiet sense of duty. He listened before he spoke, offered help before being asked, and treated everyone like a friend. He didn't need attention—family and friends would say he just showed up, paid attention, and did what needed to be done.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, Scott Hilton.Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Kathy Yunt Hilton; sons, Cliff (Ashley) and Matt (Kasi) Hilton; daughter, Barbara Kelley (DJ); grandchildren, Olivia, Peter, Boone, Kylie, Carter and Zack Hilton and Miles Kelley; Brothers Chuck (Barbara) and Billy Hilton; many loving cousins; mother-in-law, Marcella Yunt; and sisters-in-law, Janet (Jim) Davis, Denise (Billy) Cockerel, Deby (Dwight) Haynes, Nancy (Butch) McNatt and their children.

His funeral is 10am Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation is 3-7pm Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
