On Friday evening, October 4th, with those who love him gathered, Jimmy peacefully drifted away. Being 69 years of age, he lived a full and active life. His favorite pastime was trying to outsmart a fish. He loved being on the lake! Jimmy was also an avid NASCAR fan and owned a vast collection of model muscle and race cars.

Jimmy had a lifetime career in industrial sales, spanning over 30 years, having worked for Neill-LaVielle and Wurth-Sneider Bolt & Screw.

His parents, James Lester Bland "J.L." and Shirley Mae Abell Bland, have gone before him. Memories will be treasured by his brothers, Len and Kevin Bland, and their wives, Crystal and Teresa; his sister, Sharon Bland Joseph, widow of Jimmy Joseph; his nephew, Matthew Stevens, and his nieces, Shay Stevens and Braelyn Bland, with Braelyn also being his cherished Goddaughter.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 10th, 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm, when services will be celebrated in the chapel of Fern Creek Funeral Home.
