Isom Haynes, 90, died Friday, September 15, 2023.

He was born January 28, 1933 in Bull Creek, Kentucky, son of Will and Katherine Campbell Haynes.

Isom was a drywall finisher, retired member of Painter's Union Local 118 and an Army veteran.  He was also a member of Highview Baptist Church, the Republican Party and the NRA.

In addition to his parents, Isom was preceded in death by his son, Barry Haynes; daughter-in-law, Deby Haynes; and siblings, Bennie Haynes, Sarah Blair, Virgie Sexton, Ruby Caudill, Archie Haynes, Ruthie Haynes, Carrie Wilson, Marie Mallick, Woolery Haynes, Betty Frazier and Willie Haynes.

He is survived by his wife, Opal Necessary Haynes; children, Deborah Ann Haynes, Dwight Haynes, Rita Haynes (Steve Workman) and Steven Haynes (Amy); grandchildren, Marie Miller (Mac), Spencer Haynes, Nathan Huber, Joseph Mattingly (Jaqueline Crowe), Joshua Haynes and Gavin Graf; great grandchildren, Charlie, Riley, Natalie, Josie, Leila, and Cole; and sister, Gladys Back.

His funeral is 12pm Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation is 1-7pm Wednesday, September 20, 2023.
