Hyacinth Howard, 98, died Thursday, March 9, 2023.

She was born Hyacinth Cleo Kestler on Christmas Day in 1924, daughter of Clarence and Lena Rains Kestler.  Tootsie was a former member of Wildwood Country Club, the old Fairview Christian Church, American Turners and KYana Antique Auto Association.  She attended Hurstbourne Christian Church.

Her husband, Dr. George M. Howard; and son, Michael Howard preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sons, Dr. G. Matt Howard, III (Joan), Mark Howard (Deborah Gail), and Morgan Howard (Angela); grandchildren, Dr. George Howard (Colleen), Dr. Gregory Howard (Laura), Gary Howard (Brooke), Christina Davis (Scott), Christopher Howard (Ashley), Chance Howard and Brittany McEwen (Sean); great grandchildren, Lily, Tori, Kelli, Ethan, Sarah, Madyson, Matthew, Mayghen, Clarabella, Arlo, Hayden and Cole; and a great great grandson, Levi.

Her funeral is 6pm Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with private entombment. Visitation is after 2pm until the time of the service.
