Obituary

Hugh Hamilton McCulloch, Jr., 92, died Friday, February 11, 2022.

He was a retired civil service illustrator for the U.S. Federal Government, working on the base at Fort Knox.  He was an Air Force veteran, graduate of St. Xavier High School and The Art Academy of Cincinnati, OH, and a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church.  He enjoyed UK athletics, drawing, writing, singing, mall-waking, dancing, impersonations and a wide variety of activities that kept him young at heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Hamilton, Sr. and Mary Burke McCulloch; first wife, Eileen Rembold McCulloch; second wife, Hazel Davis McCulloch; and brothers, Thomas, John and Mark McCulloch.

He is survived by children, Anita, Sean and Raymond McCulloch, and Mary Burton (Jefferey); grandchildren, Tyler and Blake Burton; sisters-in-law, Sister Julia Davis, Deanna Kremer, Patricia Davis, Mary Frances McCulloch, Barbara McCulloch, Julia Blissinger, Laverne Scholl, and Terry Drexler; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass is 10:30am Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 5915 Outer Loop, Louisville, KY   with burial in Highland Memory Gardens, Mt. Washington.  Visitation is 3-7pm Tuesday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY.
