Hank Allgeier, 73, died Saturday, August 22, 2026.

He was born Francis Henry Allgeier, Jr. on January 4, 1953, son of Henry and Jeannette Brown Allgeier.

Hank was a graphic artist and worked for Metro Sign Company. Through this position, he collaborated on many projects in the Louisville area, particularly Churchill Downs and the Breeder’s Cup. Hank loved Louisville and donated his artistic skills to numerous charities and other events including Abby Road on the River. He was a graduate of St. Xavier High School and Morehead State University. As an avid billiards fan, he founded the pool league at Barrett Bar.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Matt and Chris Allgeier.

In addition to his parents, Hank is survived by his wife of 15 years, Sarah Walls Allgeier; children, Eric Allgeier (Melissa), Marc Allgeier (Karen), Jeff Kruger (Arielle); step daughter, Karmin Gorsick (Frank); grandchildren, Roman, Rio, Thomas, and Samuel Allgeier and Levi and Talia Kruger; siblings, Laura Dalton (Dan), Valerie Wenz (Jerry), Michelle Vincent (Tim) and Stephen (Judy), Daniel (Nell), Vince (Terry) and Bart (Christina) Allgeier; and sister-in-law, Tammy Allgeier.

His funeral is 3pm Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road. Visitation is after 11am until the time of the funeral.
