Gus Morris, 88, died Friday, April 28, 2023.

He was born Gussie William Morris on November 23, 1934, son of Paul and Marietta Roth Morris.

Gus, or "G.W" as he was known by some, was a Risk Management Specialist for Republic Bank. He was retired from HSBC where he was Director of Collections. In the 1980s he served as Commissioner of Taxation Collections for the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet.  He served in the United States Navy and attended Walnut Street Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven Morris;3 brothers; and a sister.

He is s urvived by daughters, Susan Smith(Bill) and Sherri Morris; g randchildren, Alicia Adams (Duncan), Neil Smith (Lara) and Tiffany Morris; 5 great grandchildren; 3 sisters; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and his sweetheart of over 20 years, Sandra Grant.

His funeral is 6pm Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road.  Visitation is after 2pm until the time of the service.
