Greta Dolores (Massa) Taylor, 83, of Louisville, KY, passed away peacefully at Baptist Health Louisville on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 after an illness.

She was born April 3, 1942, in Barlow, KY to the late Elmore and Ruth Lena (Myatt) Massa.

She graduated from Ballard County High School in 1960 and Union University in 1964. Following graduation, Greta taught elementary school in Gary, IN for several years before working as a substitute teacher while obtaining her CPA license. She was an employee of Dreisbach's Wholesale Florist as an accountant for many years until her retirement in 2010.

Greta was an active member of Saint Matthews Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. She particularly loved her role as a deacon and assisting with Vacation Bible School.

She volunteered at God's Design, a non-profit in Louisville, KY providing furniture, décor, and household items to families in need for many years.

In addition to her parents, Greta was preceded in death by her brother, Armon T. Massa (Beatrice), nephew Garry Massa, and cousin James Boyd (Katie).

She is survived by her son, Brad Taylor (Kathy), granddaughter, Gretchen Taylor, nephew Terry Massa (Carolyn) and his family, cousins Stephen Boyd and Greg Boyd (Kim) and their families, and her friends at SMBC.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 2-5pm at Fern Creek Funeral Home in Louisville, KY with a funeral service immediately following. Greta will be interred at Barlow Cemetery, in Barlow, KY, on Monday, March 2, 2026 next to her mother and father.
