Gregory Andrew Talarovich (78), beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Gregg was born on December 23, 1946, in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, to the late Andrew and Helen Lengle Talarovich.
Gregg valued service to his country. He earned his U.S. Army Officer commission through the prestigious University of Delaware Army ROTC program on September 27, 1968, as an Armor Officer. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in accounting that same year from the University of Delaware. Gregg graduated from the U.S. Army Armor School at Fort Knox, KY, in 1969, followed by specialized computer programming training. He received counterinsurgency training from the U.S. Army Institute for Military Assistance School in 1970, part of the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Center for Military Assistance. Coupled with his knowledge of computer data processing and foreign military assistance advisory training, Gregg served in the US Army Europe Theater from 1969 – 1970 and earned the rank of 1LT.
Gregg went on to pursue a career in sales and accounting highlighted by positions at Corning Glass Works in New York, the Presbyterian Center, and Bob Hook Chevrolet in Louisville, KY. Gregg was a member of Highview Baptist Church.
Gregg most enjoyed spending time with his family, especially during the holiday season. His daily priority was placing his beloved wife, Patricia, first in everything he did, from making her tea to making her laugh. From vacations to Alaska, the Florida coast, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, and Georgia to visit family, Gregg spent precious time with those he loved most. Gregg also talked frequently about his fondness as a Corvette Club enthusiast.
Gregg is survived by his wife, Patricia Gocke Talarovich; daughters, Vanessa McCurdy (Josh) and Jessica Engels (Steven); stepsons, Ted Jr. (Amy), Shawn (Amy), Eric (Sarah), and Jonathan (Elizabeth) Gocke; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Ashley McCurdy, Lauren Tinney and Trevor, Chipper, Nathan, Lexie, Gabe, Sam and Ben Gocke; great grandchild, Teddy Tinney; and brother, Marty Talarovich (Rhonda).
Visitation is 3-8p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky. Memorial Service is 10:30am, Friday, May 23, 2025, at Fern Creek Funeral Home. Committal with military honors follows at 12:30p.m. in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, Kentucky.
