Jenny Schaffer, 86, died Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

She was born Virginia Ann Yancey on September 13, 1939 in Maude, Kentucky, daughter of Beve and Louise Stump Yancey. 

Jenny retired from Bates Elementary School. She was a member of Highview Baptist Church and the Fern Creek Women’s Club. She was an active quilter and former docent at the Tombstone Art Gallery in Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roylee Schaffer.

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Schaffer and Lisa Scheurich; grandchildren, Jason Goldsmith and Jerrin Scheurich; great grandchildren, Jayden and Nevaeh Scheurich and Skyla, Leighla, Jayla and Bella Goldsmith; and great great grandchildren, Ayden and Anthony Goldsmith.

Her funeral is 6pm Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation is after 3pm Tuesday until the time of the service. Burial is private.
