Gilberta Ann "Gillie" Burris, 83, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, November 22, 2024.

She was born May 19, 1941, daughter of the late Gilbert and Mildred Blankenship Vertrees.  Gillie was a devoted homemaker and member of the old Midlane Park Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Burris; grandson, Taylor Lee Darnell; and siblings, Carl, Donald, Carolyn, Sarah, Betty, Mary, George, Ellen, (Marion) Wally, Barbara, Hazel and (Martha) LIz.

Survivors include her children, Robert "Bob" Burris (Kathy Goaly), Lynda Darnell and Judy Glasscock (Sam); granddaughters, Traci Miller, Jennifer Thacker, Chelsie Askew and Cheyenne Askew (Shane Crosier); and great grandchildren, Taevion Miller, Avery Capito, Miracle Miller, Kayden Askew and Aiden Crosier. She also leaves behind the last living siblings Charles (Andy) Vertrees and Rebecca (Becky) Darmon (Ray)

A celebration of her life is 3:30pm Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky.  Visitation is after 12pm until the time of the service.
