Georgetta Aleene
Goetzinger
March 4, 2022
Georgetta Aleene Goetzinger, 77, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022 in Louisville, Ky. A cherished wife, mom, and mamaw, Georgetta loved spending time with her family more than anything. She was an avid reader, gardener, cruciverbalist and home cook who loved cheering on her Kentucky Wildcats, going on travel adventures with her daughters and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
She dedicated most of her career to raising her children but spent several years working in retail at Hallmark, where she enjoyed shopping as much as her customers. The first in her family to graduate, she was a proud alumna of Shelby County High School. She was a member of St. Bartholomew, as well as St. Gabriel, where she taught children in the parish religious education program for many years.
She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Goetzinger; mother, Anna Sowders Key; father George Robinson; and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband, John Goetzinger; daughters, Anna Meade (Jeff), Becky Goetzinger and Lori Goetzinger (Matt Rimstidt); grandchildren, Aaron Morford (Sasha) and Penelope; great-grandchildren, Madeline and Charlotte; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat and companion, Lou
