Earnest H. Gearheart, 91, died Saturday, December 2, 2023 in Louisville, Kentucky.

He was born March 18, 1932 in Floyd County, Kentucky, son of Woots and Sula Howard Gearheart.  Ernie retired as a driver for Contract Bus Service after 40 years.  He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a lifetime member of VFW and a Kentucky Colonel.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Shields Gearheart; children, Daniel Gearheart (Bev), Diana Mayes (Jim), Cathy Freadreacea (Nick), and Larry Gearheart; step-children, William Spinner (Debbie), Cheri Young (Dave), Vicki Hammond (John), Tammy Burton (Jeff) and Janie Dawson (Chad);17 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.

Visitation begins at 12pm Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road and concludes with military honors at 6:45pm.  Private burial in Lebanon (KY) National Cemetery.
