Obituary

Earl Max Cantrell was born in Louisville, Kentucky on March 20, 1926 to Harvey Riley and Vera May Sierp Cantrell, the first of seven children.  He passed away peacefully on April 2, 2023 after a brief illness.

He had a distinctive career in contract sales with General Electric spanning 39 years and won numerous awards for outstanding performance.  He served as a sergeant in the United States Army.

Earl had a deep commitment to his faith and was involved in volunteering, teaching and mentoring in numerous churches over the years.

He was characterized by his strongly held beliefs, generosity and notorious sense of humor.  Earl spent his retirement years traveling all over with his beloved wife Shirley, married over seven decades.

Earl is survived by siblings, Virginia Rauh, Harvey Cantrell, Jim Cantrell (Shirley) and Mike Cantrell (Hope); and children, Barbara Miller (Felix, deceased), Sarah Kennedy (John), David Cantrell (Gayle) and Paul Cantrell (Leslie Sharp).  He has nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Memorial service is 1pm Saturday at Fern Creek Baptist Church, 5920 Bardstown Road.
