Doris Lee Bates Workman, age 93, passed away January 18, 2024.  Doris was born in Louisville on August 18, 1930.  She was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for her husband's business, Cardinal Container Corporation.  She volunteered at Baptist N.E. Hospital for 13 years.  Doris was a member of Mt. Tabor Methodist Church in Crestwood for many years.  She lived most of her life in Oldham County.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Leo "Lee" and Hazel Bates; husband, Leonard "Pete" Workman; sister, Jean Lange; brother, Leo "Buddy" Bates; and great grandson, Phoenix Yates.

Doris is survived by her sons, Daniel "Danny" Workman (Linda) and Timothy "Tim" Workman; grandchildren, Keith Workman and Elizabeth "Beth" Workman Yates (Stephen); great grandchildren, Nolan and Cooper Yates; and many nephews and nieces.  Doris loved her family and her family loved her.

Funeral service is 1pm Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Fern Creek Funeral Home with burial in Penn Run Memorial Park.  Visitation is 3-7pm Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the funeral home.
