Donna
Longest
June 25, 2023
The world lost a beloved mother, Donna Longest (Elbert), on June 25th, 2023. She had the most giving heart, amazing smile, and gave the best hugs. She died at Baptist Health Louisville surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born on 9/27/49 in Louisville, KY, Donna graduated from Durrett High School. She was the most loving mom and Mamaw and always there when we needed her. She always said she loved her babies. She was a devoted and loving wife. If you knew her well, she treated you like family and was always saying the funniest things.
Her talents and creativity were endless. She decorated beautiful wedding and special occasion cakes for people that she cared about. Most recently she worked as a cake decorator at Kroger in Mt. Washington. She did woodworking making gorgeous wood pieces, quilted, hand crafted the most intricate cards and picture albums, painted and many other talents. Many of her creations she would work so hard on and give to others she felt were special to her.
Donna had a heart of gold and has helped so many people though out her years. She is a devout Christian and has helped, in many ways, the people of the congregations she's attended. One being Okolona Christian Church, in which she was an active member for many years. She most recently attended Mill Creek Baptist Church.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Edna Elbert and her brother Mark Elbert. She is survived by her husband Moe Longest, her brother Fred Elbert Jr., her son Michael "Barry" Willens, her daughter Dawn "Sissy" Padron (Ed Silver), her grandchildren Savanna Padron (Prescott Higginbotham) and Dawson Padron and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
Friends and family are invited to say a final goodbye to Donna at Fern Creek Funeral Home. Saturday, July 1st from 1 - 4 p
