Dennis Joseph Lawrence, II, 77, died Monday, May 26, 2025.

He was born April 16, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Dennis worked for Ford Motor Company for 38 years and was a member of Southeast Christian Church-Bullitt County Campus.  He attended DeSales High School and graduated from Male High School.  After graduation he volunteered his service to this country.  He was part of the 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army and a veteran of the Vietnam War.  He sustained a disabling injury and earned a purple heart.

Dennis was a simple, genuine and good-hearted man.  He loved his family and friends.  His passions include hunting, fishing and UK basketball.  He was also a talented carpenter and created many beautiful decks, covered porches, entertainment centers, and even a home at Rough River.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis J. Lawrence, Sr. and Loretta Breedlove Lawrence Hollinger; a sister, Suzanne Reynolds; and niece, Jenni Casper.

Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Janice Carroll Lawrence; children, Kari Parsons (Zack) and Dennis J. Lawrence, III; grandson, Max Parsons; siblings, Judy Casper (Will) and Pat Lawrence (Sandy Bartley); niece, Kelly Gerstle; (Matt); nephew, Dennis Reynolds; and great nephews, Garrett and Ethan Gerstle.

His funeral is 12pm Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky with burial in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, Kentucky.  Visitation is after 10am until the time of the service.
