Obituary

Dennis J Anderson passed into the next life surrounded by his loved ones on February 16, 2023.

Those that knew him remember his incredible sense of humor and warmth of heart.

Dennis was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 22 1953 to parents Roberta and Norman. He began his lifelong love of music at the young age of 12, listening to all types of music while learning to play guitar. Growing up in Valley Station, Ky, Dennis met the other love of life at age 18, his future wife, Barbara. Dennis and Barbara attended Western Kentucky University where he graduated with a masters degree in psychology. After their marriage in 1979, Dennis went on to receive his rank 1 at University of Louisville. Dennis then began his teaching career with the Jefferson County Public school system as a special education teacher at Buechel Metropolitan High School.  He became a father with the birth of Justin in 1981.

Dennis was many things and had an indescribable magic. He was always quick to a punchline or to make a citizen's arrest that included catching a bank robber in September of 2001. He lived for playing music, whether it was in one of his many bands or playing in his garage around a small group of friends. Dennis was a dedicated and generous friend to many, offering both guidance and support while not asking for anything in return. He was a good son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and grandfather. Dennis will also be missed for all the incredible friendships he has built over the years.

He was deeply loved and will be missed by so very many that were touched by his kind spirit.

He is predeceased by his father, Norman; mother, Roberta; and sister, Patricia and is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Justin (Leslie); grandson, Alex; brother, Lee (Kathi); sister, Pamela, and loyal best 4 legged friend Rosco.

A celebration of life is 3:00-8:00pm  Thursday, February 23, 2023 at their home.

The family greatly appreciated the love and care Hosparus of Louisville provided Dennis.
