Demetrius L. Jones (Monty) was born September 23, 1970 and departed this life on December 5, 2025.

Demetrius accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized; however, he was out of fellowship for many years.  In 2017, he rededicated his life to Christ with the help of his mother, Mildred Jones.

Demetrius was a loving son, always willing to help anyone he could.  He attended Central High School and was a member of the old House of Prayer Baptist Church.  He worked as a cook for over 25 years in Kentucky and Indiana at several locations, including Lentini's, Bonefish Grill, Audubon Country Club and Golden Corral.

Demetrius had to retire in 2019 after being diagnosed with End Stage Kidney Failure.  During these last six years there were many struggles, ups & downs with his health, however recently he found peace with his disease.

Demetrius is survived by his devoted mother, Mildred Jones; brother, Wil Jones; sisters, Angel Evans and LaJeana Evans; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbert Jones; and grandmothers, Anna Abell and Spencer Jones.

Memorial service is 3pm Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road.  Visitation is after 1pm until the time of the service.
