Obituary

David Allen Jessel
September 8, 1963 – April 17, 2023

Our brother David Allen Jessel, 59, died late afternoon Monday April 17, 2023.  He was born September 8, 1963 in Cleveland, OH, third son of the late Edward J. Jessel and the late Ann Janov Jessel. He had been a proud Kentuckian since the age of 3.  In the past several years, he struggled with both COPD and CHF. Prayers for his peace and eternal rest are welcomed.

David was our free spirited "wild" child.  When he had an opinion, he wasn't shy or afraid to share it.  He was either a high energy 'fireball" or laid back "cowboy" as whatever the situation called him to be.

As a child he fought with dyslexia and ADD, which taught him that he could be who he wanted to be if he worked hard enough to make it.  But of course, he cut corners sometimes, when he thought he could get away with it.  Often, he would just throw away the "whole dam book" and make up his own directions.

His career was multi-faceted.  He worked as a warehouse worker, delivery driver, oil rig worker in the Gulf of Mexico and probably the longest, as a truck (big rig) driver, both long haul and local.

He is preceded in death by
his son, John David Jessel,
his parents, Ann Janov Jessel and Edward J. Jessel,
his older brother Joseph Mark Jessel, and Sara Masticola's daughter Kristen.

He is survived by his significant other Sara Masticola
his siblings,
Anne Marie Channel (Don),
Catherine Jessel-Huelsman (Alan), Edward J. Jessel III (Sally) and
John R. Jessel (Barbara);
his nieces and nephews,
and many cousins in Cleveland and Colorado.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in David's name may be sent to the American Heart Association.
