Obituary

On June 28, at 8:48 in the evening, Clarice Ann Young was welcomed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father. Her last two years on this earth she endured much pain and suffering before the Lord decided she needed a rest and called her home. Born on June 13, 1939 to the late Earl and Daisy Hendricks, she grew up on a large farm in Depauw Indiana. Her first job was at Norton Infirmary on Oak Street in Louisville and after her marriage to the late Thomas Lee Young on November 28, 1964, she assisted him in running his TV repair business. In 1984, she started a new career at Sears and worked there until her retirement in 2013.

Her passion was daylilies, her favorite flower. She had many throughout the yard after collecting them for many years. In the late 1970's and early 1980's she served in the Auburndale Elementary School PTA in which she loved baking sugar cookies for all the kids to enjoy. Clarice was a member of Kenwood Church Of Christ for many years until her untimely death.

Clarice will be deeply missed by her family and all that knew and loved her. She lived her life with grace and kindness and her warm smile and personality would illuminate a room. Her selflessness she proved every day in her love and devotion to others, especially her sons Jamie And Mark. May she rest safely under angels wings forever. Farewell dear friend.

She is survived by her sons, James Young and Mark Young (Sissie); and sister-in-law, Betty Curran.

Her funeral is 1pm Friday, July 10 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation 2-7pm on Thursday and after 10am Friday until the time of the service.
