Charles A.
Hauck
January 2, 2024
Charles Albert Hauck, aged 84, died peacefully surrounded by his family on January 2, 2024, in Louisville KY as he worked to recover from a series of falls while battling vascular dementia. Charles, or Charlie as his family & friends knew him, was born March 25, 1939, in Louisville, the son of Fredrick and Rosetta Hauck.
Charlie loved UK Basketball (and the UofL Cards when they were playing anyone but The Cats). You could find him during basketball season keeping score of every game. He also loved music, dancing, and singing with anyone who would listen or join him. When he wasn't watching UK or dancing the night away you would likely find him enjoying a round of golf with friends and family or spending time with many great grandchildren.
In 2001, Charlie retired from Kroger after 44 years serving the customers & neighbors he loved in the communities where he worked. Everyone who knew him loved him. He was an active and proud member of the American Legion GI Joe Post 244 and served as a member of St. John's Sick & Benevolent Society. He was one of 3 children and is survived by his wife, Sylvia; daughter Sherri, both of Louisville KY; son, Chris of Atlanta, GA; granddaughter Katie Lucey and grandson Joshua Jolly both of Louisville KY, and eight great grandchildren.
A life celebration will be held at American Legion Post 244 @ 3408 College Drive, Louisville, KY on Saturday February 3rd from 3 – 6pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam to Hosparus Health or American Legion Post 244.
