Carl Williams, 99, died Saturday, October 1, 2022 at his home.

He was retired from General Electric.  An Army veteran of WWII, he was in the 5th Engineers section S-4 and under captain Thomas Nunnally with whom he volunteered to go over early. They were together from the start. Carl was in five campaigns, hit the beaches of Normandy and was in the battle of the Bludge.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Kincer Williams; and daughters, Carlene and Linda Williams.

He is survived by his sons, Marty and Jeffrey (Jan) Williams; and grandchildren, Carl and Clara Williams.

His funeral is 4pm Thursday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with private burial.  Visitation is after 12pm Thursday until the time of the funeral.
