Carl Vernon Sparrow, Sr., 78, died Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

Carl spent many hardworking hours tending to his family's 100 year old farm and was adventurous in his endeavors to include wine making and flying lessons. His belief in good work ethic was demonstrated when he won Remodeler of the Year multiple times in the state of Kentucky.

He was a teller of tall tales and when it came to being witty, he would always win first prize. In death as in life he was the king of Irish goodbyes. Though he had numerous accomplishments his proudest of all was being a grandfather. Carl has left many meaningful and happy memories for those who knew and loved him that will last lifetimes. His friends and family will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Nannie Sparrow; and sisters, Gladys Buffin and Mildred Thomas.

He is survived by his children, Rebecca Baize (Ken), and Carl Sparrow, Jr. (Leslie); grandchildren, Rob Michler (Sarah), Alex Sparrow (Clay), Shea Sparrow (Jess), Worth Sparrow (Casey), Jina Sparrow, and Cory Schneidtmiller (Lindsey); great grandchildren; and love of his life, Brenda McClary.

His memorial visitation is Sunday from 12:00-4:00pm
