Brenda Cecil, 71, died Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at her home in Louisville, Kentucky.

She was born Brenda Lea Elzey on April 9, 1954, daughter of William and Edith Haycraft Elzey.  Brenda was a homemaker and a former jewelry consultant for the old Service Merchandise.  She was a graduate of Moore High School and a member of the YMCA.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Elzey.

Survivors include her husband, Edward T. Cecil, Jr.; children, Angela Boles (Gary), Erin Cahill (Josh), Mary McCaulley (Nick) and Edward T. Cecil, III (Ashley Hallinan-Cecil); grandchildren, Billy, Leah, Devan, Joshua and Nathan; and sister, Mary Lou Murphy.

Her funeral is 12pm Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with burial in Penn Run Memorial Park.  Visitation is 3-7pm Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
