Obituary

Robert Blaydes Dempley passed away unexpectedly on Monday September 16, 2024 in his favorite place, Orange Beach, Alabama.

Born in Louisville, KY on January 25, 1950 to Isaac Blaydes Dempley and Clara Scheer Dempley.  Bob was 74 years young and started life as a draftsman ultimately retiring in 1996 from Naval Ordnance.  He was a "jack of all trades" and worked after retiring as Bob The Handyman.  He raced dirt bikes in his twenties traveling with his best friend, he was also volunteer firefighter the majority of his life and formerly served on Fairdale Fire Department and then Mt. Washington Fire Department. He currently served as a member of Bullitt County Disaster and Emergency Services. Bob was in the Army National Reserves, a 1968 graduate of Ahrens Trade School, former member of Falls City Corvette Club, and a Kentucky Colonel.
Bob loved spending time at the beach. He relished his title, "Cabana Boy", enjoying catering to his Wandas on their beach vacations.  He was the best father and husband and friend anyone could ask for and his daughter was the apple of his eye.

He was survived by his wife, Wanda Dempley and daughter, Andrea Beth Dempley; stepson, Clint Collier; grandchildren, Kenedie, Cooper, Keatyn, Seth, Sean, and Cody.

His Celebration of life is Saturday October 5, 2024 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road.  Visitation will be 12:00 - 4:00 with his service beginning at 4:00pm

In lieu of flowers, Bob would have loved for donations to be made to WHAS Crusade for Children thru either Fairdale or Mt Washington Fire Department, as he supported this charity thru his entire life.
