Robert "Bob" Joseph Costelle, 85, of Louisville passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 10, 2022.

Bob was a member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Church and a 1955 graduate of St. Xavier High School. He retired from General Electric in 1997 after over 25 years of service. Before his time at GE, he worked for 15 years at Trans-American Freight.

Bob loved doing jigsaw puzzles, playing card games with his family, and singing Christmas carols off-key no matter the time of year.

Bob was preceded in death earlier this year by the love of his life, Judith "Judi" Vessels Costelle. They were married for 63 years, and he devoted the last years of his life to caring for her.

Bob remained close to his siblings throughout the years, enjoying many holiday picnics, outings to Derby City Gaming, and meals at the Hungry Pelican. He is preceded in death by his brothers Kenneth Costelle (Cathy) and Richard Costelle (Doris). He is survived by his siblings Geraldine "Gerry" Taylor (Harvey, dec.), Raymond Costelle (Jane, dec.), Bernice "Bernie" Beavin (Abel, dec.), Joseph Costelle (Pat, dec.), and Verna Carr (Alfred, dec.).

He will be dearly missed by his children, Andrew Costelle (Donna), Todd Costelle (Monica), Beth Cox (Mark), and Robin Costelle (Connie), and his grandchildren, Caleb Costelle (Shelby), Autumn Costelle (Andrew), Hannah Costelle, and Candace Cox.

Visitation is 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road. Funeral mass is 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 13 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 5505 Bardstown Road. There will also be an hour of visitation 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 14 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, with burial at Calvary Cemetery to follow.
