Beverly Ruth Wilkerson, Age 80, stepped into Heaven on Wednesday April 26, 2023 at 5:16 a.m. at Baptist East Hospital.

She was born Beverly Ruth Smith on February 28, 1943 to Paul Quinton Smith and Ruth Lardner (Staple) Smith.

Beverly, affectionately known as BeBe or Beeb, by all who knew and loved her dearly was a deeply family oriented woman. Aside from being a very loving and giving mother, grandmother and sister, she was also a great friend to so many. She had a heart of gold and was a mentor to countless people. She had a passion to help young women navigate their lives with the help of always giving her own personal testimony. A deep love for God meant he was first in all things and secondly, family is what mattered the most.

Her love for serving in church never wavered from her early Christian walk at Gethsemane Baptist Church to being a founding member of Eastern Gate Baptist Church to lastly, Central Baptist Church in Corbin Ky. where she retired as a Finance Secretary.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Wilkerson and her beloved sister Carolyn Klaber and brother in-law Dale Klaber. She was also preceded in death by a precious great grandson, Lorenzo "Enzo" Sanchez.

She is survived by two sisters, Jackie Johnson (Tommy), Susan Greenwell (Eddie) and her brother, Bobby Smith (Teresa). Her adult children; Laura Carter (Bill), Brian Wilkerson (Shannon), Brad Wilkerson (Len), 7 grandchildren;

Rachel Robinson (Justin), Josh Carter (Sarah), Tori Sanchez (George) Xander Wilkerson, Tori Brock (Cole), Maci Mouser and Kian Wilkerson. 11 great grandchildren; Nevaeh, Micah, Josiah, Hannah, Elijah, Ava, Elena, Ethan, Jackson, Emma, Harper and another little blessing due in August. 1 great great grandchild, Raelynn. Also survived by a huge family of nieces, nephews and their families.

Bebe will be missed by many but her legacy of love and seeds of wisdom will live on for future generations. Bring your stories and come share as we celebrate the memories of a life well lived.

Her Celebration of Life is Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with Visitation being 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. and a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Cremation was chosen.
