Betty Lou Reese Richardson, 88 years young, died Wednesday, January 26, 2022, peacefully in her sleep due to complications of Alzheimer's.

She was a devout follower of Jesus, a faithful wife, loving mother, and charter member of Fern Creek Christian Church.  Betty was a brilliant cook and baker.  A wry, quick wit, she was usually the smartest person in the room, and always the funniest.

She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 63 years, Melvin; son, David;  parents, Leslie and Wilma Reese; sister, Patricia; and brothers, Bobby and Jim (Anna).

She is survived by her son, Joseph Richardson, MD (Judy), daughter-in-law, Sherry Richardson; adopted children, Phil and Maria Newman; grandchildren, Nick (Holly), Reese (Laurel), Kevin (Savannah), Graham (Meghan), and Jillian Kelly (Josh); and great grandchildren, Nathan, Nolan, Landon, Logan, Emma, Sam, Ezra, and Theo.

She will be privately buried in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville, Indiana.
