Berdena Faye Kelsey, 86, died Friday, October 13, 2023.

She was a founding member of Okolona Church of Christ, a 1956 graduate of Fern Creek High School, and  a kindergarten teacher from 1971-1984. She was a avid UK fan, loved to bake and sing and was an encourager to all by sending notes and cards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Kelsey; son-in-law, Mark Bryant; and siblings, Pauline Ankeny, Hazel Badgett, Norma Forrest, Manford Nichols, and Robert Nichols.

She is survived by her children, Kathy Hyde, David Kelsey (Beverly), and Saundra Bryant; grandchildren, James Kelsey (Sandra), Robert Hyde (Libby), Michael Hyde; Nathaniel Kelsey, Nicholas Kelsey, Hunter Bryant (Alex), Caleb Bryant, and Mika Bryant; great grandchildren, Jehlee Hudson, Abeni Kelsey, Dulce Kelsey, Robert Hyde, Maxiums Hyde, Ava Hyde, and Madeline Bryant; and siblings, Jerry Nichols, Jimmy Nichols, and Sue Morris.

Her funeral is 10:00am Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Okolona Church of Christ, 6105 Outer Loop, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation is 3:00-8:00pm Wednesday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Rd.
