Barbara Nell Perry Carney, 72, was born March 1, 1949 and returned to her heavenly Father on February 18, 2022 with her family by her side.

She was a member of Highview Baptist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Fincastle Chapter and Daughters of the Union.  She served on the board of Trustees for New Hebron Hunt Cemetery.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar, Sr. and Marietta Perry; brother, Oscar Perry, Jr.; and parents-in-law, Clyde, Jr. and Virginia Carney.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jerry Carney; children, Shannon Halfhill (Will), Joshua Carney and Jacob Carney (Lindsay); grandchildren, Trevor and Madison Gonzalez, Caroline Halfhill, and Noah, Bennett and Brooklynn Carney; sister, Wanetta Ellis (Byron); and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 1-7pm EST Monday, February 21, 2022 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY.  Additional visitation begins at 12pm CST Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Tucker Funeral Home, 536 Bradford Street, Beechmont, KY concluding with a funeral service at 2:00pm CST. Burial in New Hebron Hunt Cemetery, Penrod, KY.
