(Patsy) Ann Hawkins Vogt, 87, born March 7, 1937 died on Monday December 23, 2024. Ann wed James Edward Vogt on September 14, 1957.
She attended the University of Kentucky from 1955-1956. While at the University of Kentucky she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gama sorority and majored in Art. She was also a member of the Buechel Homemakers Club, past President of the Buechel-Fern Creek Jaycee-ettes , member of the Order of the Eastern Star and member of the UK Alumni Association.
Ann was a loving wife, mother, friend and grandmother (Gran) and was married to her husband Jim for over 64 years. Their group of lifelong friends enjoyed bridge and traveling together for over 40 years. Ann was a talented artist and gifted many of her paintings to family and friends. She was always up for celebrations, party planning and was an excellent hostess. She was a friend to all and known as Gran by her grandchildren who were the light of her life and loved deeply. Ann will be missed for her quick wit and energy for fun.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia Hall Hawkins and John Allie Hawkins; brother, John A, Hawkins Jr.; husband, James Edward Vogt; and son-in-law, David Thompson.
Survivors include her son, James Edward Vogt II (Allyson) of Mayfield KY; daughter, Virginia (Ginger) Vogt Thompson of New Albany IN; nieces, Diane Day (Steve) and Melissa Hawkins McInerney (Ryan); nephew, Michael F.Vogt (Carina); grandchildren, Ryan Hawkins Vogt (Alex) of New Albany IN., Eric Louis Vogt (Ellen) of Lexington KY, Christopher James Vogt of Mayfield KY, and Ava Marie Thompson of Manhatten, KS; and great grandchildren, Vivian Q. Vogt, Ana M. Vogt, Louis M. Vogt and Matilda K. Vogt.
Memorial visitation is 1-3pm Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville KY.
