Anita Mae Isenberg, 73, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

Born on September 3, 1952, in Louisville, she was the beloved daughter of the late Leland and Louise (Stout) Jarrett. Anita was a proud 1970 graduate of Fern Creek High School and a devoted, lifelong member of the Watterson Trail Church of Christ. Her faith in God was unshakeable; even when she could not attend services in person, she participated fully in praise and worship from home, lifting her classic, rich alto voice to sing along with every hymn.

Anita’s greatest joy was her family. She shared 52 beautiful years of marriage with her husband, Dan Isenberg, whom she met "soooo many years ago" at Cedar Springs Church of Christ. As a mother, she was unparalleled. She attended every single school play and recreational league game, reliably serving as the loudest, most vocal supporter in the stands. Heavily involved in the school PTA, she was famously known to tell her children, “Tell them who your mother is!” She handed down invaluable driving lessons, profound life lessons, and was always just a phone call away whenever they needed to talk.

When she became a grandmother, her heart grew even larger. Anita personally watched and cared for each of her five grandchildren during their baby and toddler years. She absolutely relished their visits, hanging on every triumph story and celebrating every milestone. No one could have been prouder of them than she was.

Anita loved to laugh—often breathlessly and to the point of tears. Weekend nights were frequently spent enjoying board games and card games like Scrabble, Skip-Bo, and Boggle. She was also the ultimate, law-abiding judge of family Monopoly disputes, resolving conflicts while laughing and snorting alongside her sister and dear friends.

An avid lover of antiques, Anita spent several years operating a sales booth, buying, selling, and connecting with fellow enthusiasts. She also cherished travel, especially vacations to Fripp Island, South Carolina, and Naples, Florida. She was incredibly fond of cruises, and was blessed to take one final, memorable voyage through the Alaskan waters. Anita had an affinity for shrimp, and a legendary love for chocolate—specifically M&M’s—which could always be found stocked in her home at any given moment.

Anita was blessed with many friends whom she loved deeply, speaking with them often and prioritizing their visits. And, in a nod to her practical and modern side, she profoundly LOVED Amazon Prime Delivery. Having become very close with her delivery drivers over the years, the family notes with a smile that the company will surely miss her business.

In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Darlene Crask.

She is survived by her dutiful and faithful husband, Daniel H. Isenberg; her children, Amanda Young (Cory), Clint Isenberg (Kelli), Russell Isenberg, and Randy Isenberg; and her five cherished grandchildren, Peyton, Ava, and Camryn Isenberg, and Jackson and Alex Young.

Service Information: A service celebrating Anita's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40291. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
