Anita Hodges peacefully entered Eternal Life on Friday, April 29, 2022.

Anita was born on October 22, 1937 to Harvey and Estelle McGuire in Ardmore, Alabama.  At the age of eight, her family moved to Louisville where she attended Johnston Elementary and Manual High Schools.  She married John Hodges on Decmeber 10, 1954 and gave birth to their only child, Pam, in 1957.  Anita was foremost a wife, a mother and a grandmother but she volunteered numerous hours as a PTA worker, Sunday School teacher, homebound visitor and food preparer for church meals.

Anita is predeceased by John, her husband of 52 years; her parents; and her brother, Keddy McGuire.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Pam Mechetner; her son-in-law, Eugene Mechetner; granddaughter, Lauren Gibson; and grandson-in-law, Gabriel Gibson.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 3pm to 7pm at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with an additional hour of visitation on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 10am with services to follow at 11am.  Entombment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
