Alta Patteson, 100, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6, 2025. She was born Alta Frances Avritt on June 23, 1924, in Lebanon, Kentucky, to Roy and Virginia Flanagan Avritt.

Alta had a lively sense of humor that brought joy and laughter to those around her. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, keeping a tidy home, and caring for her family. She retired as a secretary from Fern Creek High School and was a longtime member of Southeast Christian Church.

Alta was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Patteson, and her son, Terry Patteson. She is survived by three children: Bill Patteson, Nancy Gallespie, and Laurie Weisert (Tom); four grandchildren: Kiley Vinson (Ben), Thomas Patteson (Lily), Stephanie Matteson (Brian), and Lauren Weisert; and seven great-grandchildren: Dylan and Shane Matteson, Molly and Will Vinson, and Elizabeth, Eleanor, and Emma Patteson.

Alta's life will be honored at a funeral service on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 AM until the time of service.

She will be warmly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
